We are looking for enthusiastic, creative and compassionate qualified teachers to join our growing team and deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition to children and young people across Cornwall.
If you're a teacher who loves working with children individually, enjoys finding creative ways to help students learn and wants the flexibility to fit work around your lifestyle, we'd love to hear from you.
We provide bespoke 1:1 tuition and Alternative Provision for children and young people aged 6–18.
Our students have a wide range of needs and experiences. Some may be accessing EOTAS, experiencing anxiety or school avoidance, or have SEND or SEMH needs.
Our approach is simple:
We start with the child, not the lesson plan.
We want our tutors to get to know their students, understand how they learn best and have the creativity and flexibility to adapt their teaching accordingly.
Previous tutoring experience isn't essential.
You may be an experienced classroom teacher looking for something different, a teacher wanting more flexibility around family life, or simply someone who loves the idea of making a real difference through 1:1 teaching.
Experience working with SEND, SEMH, anxiety, school avoidance or Alternative Provision is welcomed.
Experience or training in Trauma Informed Schools (TIS) is also desirable, but not essential.
We understand that teaching is not always about working Monday–Friday, 9–3.
Our tutors work on a zero-hours contract, giving you the flexibility to accept work that fits around your existing commitments and lifestyle.
You choose the work that works for you.
There is no requirement to commit to a fixed number of hours, although we are particularly interested in teachers who have regular weekday availability.
You do not need to come into our Newquay-based tuition centre to work with Kernow Tuition.
We have students across Cornwall, so there are opportunities for teachers based throughout the county.
Depending on the student, tuition may take place:
🏡 In the student's home
💻 Online
📍 In a suitable local setting
🏫 At our Newquay centre where appropriate
We'd love to hear from qualified teachers based anywhere across Cornwall.
Work 1:1 with children and young people and see the difference you can make.
A zero-hours contract designed to fit around your lifestyle and existing commitments.
Work with a range of students and learning needs across Cornwall.
Become part of a growing team of tutors who share our values.
Opportunities to develop your skills and experience within SEND and Alternative Provision.
Kernow Tuition will arrange your Enhanced DBS check.
We don't expect every student to learn in the same way.
Sometimes the key to progress is finding a completely different way to approach something.
That's why we're looking for teachers who are happy to ask:
“How does this particular student learn best?”
And then get creative.
If you're passionate about education but want the opportunity to work more closely and individually with students, Kernow Tuition could be the right fit for you.
Kernow Tuition is an ambitious, growing Cornish business and we're building a team of teachers who genuinely care about the children and young people we support.
If you think you'd be a great addition to our team, we'd love to hear from you.
Please send your CV and a short covering email telling us a little about yourself and why you'd like to join Kernow Tuition to:

We look forward to hearing from you. 💜
